Should I replace clevis pins when I replace a cylinder?

Yes. Worn pins develop play that damages the new cylinder's mounting almost immediately. Always replace pins and snap rings with the cylinder.

Are PRT cylinder seal kits OEM-equivalent?

Yes. PRT seal kits include OEM-spec piston seals, rod seals, wiper seals, and O-rings. Specify the cylinder model when ordering.

Can PRT re-chrome a worn cylinder rod?

Yes, for high-value or unusual cylinders. Lead time is typically 2-3 weeks. For standard sizes, a complete cylinder replacement is usually cheaper than re-chroming.

What clevis pin material do I need for a compactor cylinder?

Hardened steel — typically 1144 stress-proof or 4140 alloy. PRT clevis pins are hardened to industrial spec. Don't substitute mild steel pins; they shear under load.
